Heart of The Swarm Protoss Strategy

Heart of The Swarm Protoss Strategy is one of the most fascinating aspects of  Starcraft 2, there are many strategies and builds that you can learn to become a protoss master and achieve your goals as a player. The protoss in my opinion are the best race for a  newcomer to start, the protoss macro is fairly easy and the race is designed to be a fun race to play.

The mighty protoss fight for honor and pride. They are an technological advanced alien race enemies to the voracious zerg. The protoss use their magnificient technology and incredible weapons to demolish their opponents, the protoss units are individualy strong but also very expensive. The best Heart of the Swarm protoss strategies can give you what you need to be a successful protoss player.

The protoss army is made of very strong units, zealots are the protoss footmen, fearless warriors that will give their lives for the greater good. The stalkers are a very good support unit that will give you a possibility to fight air attacks and also put some pressure on your opponent with early stalker rushes. Much of the Heart of the Swarm protoss strategy is based upon taking your enemy out of guard and killing him as fast as possible, the dreaded 4 gate was one of the most hated and feared protoss strategies for a long time; since then this protoss strategy was nerfed and the protosses learned how to follow a different gameplan, by taking early fast expansions and applying pressure with good gateway transitions or gateway timing attacks.

Nowadays with the many changes in the metagame, the fast expansion is staple against both terran and zerg. Against terran the best early expansion build is the safe nexus after the first stalker comes out, giving you a chance to chase away the scouting scv and have map control; its also safe against the possibility of a fast scouting reaper by the terran player and gives you the possibility to poke the terran base and see which addons are attached to the barracks and how many units he has. Against zerg the best build is the forge fast expansion followed by a 6 – 7 gate timing attack with our without blink. Its important to keep tabs on what the zerg is doing by having a good scouting pattern with more than one probe scouting in different directions if possible. Its crucial to know if the zerg is taking a fast third expansion or if he is planning to go for a two base build.

Heart of the Swarm Basic Protoss Strategies:

Using your Chrono Boost

Its very important for you to chrono the right things at the right time so the timing is perfect for your follow up plan after the fast expansion is secured. Your priority should be to chrono your warpgate technology as much as possible.

Building Placement

You should place pylons at strategic locations in the map, enabling faster reinforcements and also giving you vision for possible drops and enemy attacks. Try not to leave your pylons vulnerable and if needed place more than one pylon around vital buildings and structures.
